APD arrests Columbus woman on felony warrant charging her with Trafficking

AUBURN, Ala.-On February 17, 2020, Kathy Ann Whitfield, age 60, from Columbus, Georgia was taken into custody by Agents with the Drug Enforcement Agency and members of the Auburn Police Division Narcotics Unit. Whitfield was located at a residence in Lee County and arrested on a felony warrant charging her with Trafficking.

The arrest is the result of a joint investigation between the DEA and the Auburn Police Division. Federal and local law enforcement officials conducted a subsequent search at the residence where Whitfield was located and recovered over 6 ½ Kilos of Cocaine, a Kilo press, over 6 pounds of marijuana, an AR-15 rifle, and an undisclosed amount of U.S currency. While this investigation is ongoing, to date it has led to the total seizure of approximately $500,000 in U.S. currency, 15 Kilos of Cocaine, over 6 pounds of marijuana, and an assault rifle.

Whitfield was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility where she was booked and later released on a $50,000 bond.
