Scotty McCreery teased his social media followers with a snippet of an unreleased ballad, and he wants to know, “should this song make the new album??”
McCreery explained that many people have asked him over the years, “you got this deep voice, but why haven’t you used it on one of your songs or on one of your records? I thought about that and wanted to write a song for y’all that have asked that question. I like this song a lot. It’s called ‘Slow Dance,’” the American Idol alum said in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday evening (November 1). Instagram users gushed in the comments that McCreery should “immediately” release “Slow Dance,” though it wasn’t immediately clear when the country superstar would debut the full track.
McCreery released “Cab In A Solo” earlier this year, and is set to kick off his headlining tour of the same name in January, along with Anne Wilson, Greylan James and Noah Hicks on select dates. McCreery confirmed in April that he began working on his fifth full-length studio album, following Same Truck, Seasons Change, See You Tonight and Clear As Day. McCreery said at that time that he’s “grown up with yall on these albums. Album 5 starts today!” Listen to his latest teaser here:
