Americans love pizza, and while personal preferences may spark serious debate, two things tend to matter most: a good deal and a familiar name. That’s what a new report from YouGov finds after analyzing the views of over 44-thousand people across the country on the biggest U.S. restaurant chains, from drive-thrus to pizzerias.
The global research firm asked one especially divisive question: which fast-food chain makes the best tasting pizza?
- Pizza Hut tops the list, with 19.1% rating it the best. Responses show it has a remarkably “positive impression” overall and it’s the top choice for respondents over age 45.
- Domino’s comes in a close second with 17.1%, thanks to strong advertising and value-focused deals, like their $6.99 carryout special.
- But a fifth of those polled (21.6%) prefer a local or regional brand to any of the eight national brands in the survey, showing their strong loyalty to hometown favorites.
