Snow in East Alabama? Here's what we're expecting

Snow

As early as 4pm today we could start to see sleet and snow. What does fall isn't expected to stick. With 50 degree temperatures expected during the day, the roads will be warm which means the sleet and snow that does fall will melt on the roadways. As the much colder temperatures come in later tonight, the water on the roadways will freeze which could likely lead to black ice conditions through tonight into Wednesday.

There is a 100% chance of precipitation tonight with freezing temperatures around 16 degrees. As much as a 2 inch snow accumulation is possible with most of the white stuff falling before 3am Wednesday morning. Travelling is highly discouraged once the storm moves in this afternoon as the roadways are expected to be icy and snowy.
