Librarian Selected for 2019 Library Freedom Institute

AUBURN, Ala.- Auburn Public Library librarian Ashley J. Brown is one of 30 librarians from 14 states, DC and Mexico City who has been selected to participate in the 2019 Library Freedom Institute. 

Library Freedom Institute is a privacy-focused, six-month program for librarians to teach them how to thrive as privacy advocates. The program equips librarians will skills like educating community members, installing privacy software and influencing public policy.

Ashley has worked for the Auburn Public Library since 2005. She earned her master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Alabama in 2009.

The Auburn Public Library was established in 1947 to serve the residents of Auburn, Alabama. Today, the Auburn Public Library provides residents with a collection that reflects the diverse and dynamic interests of our community, with access to public technology and information resources, and with programs and activities that contribute to an engaged, literate and informed society.
