BREAKING: Opelika High School football coach Erik Speakman asked to step down after six seasons
Opelika High School announced on Thursday that Erik Speakman was asked to step down as the head football coach of the Bulldogs after six seasons.
Speakman led the Bulldogs to a 45-25 record and four playoff appearances in his tenure, including a Class 6A semifinal appearance in 2019. He was named the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A Coach of the Year in 2018.
